:spotlight-left: Our artwork and our rights as artists are in danger. :spotlight-right:

Currently the U.S. Congress are reviewing a potentionally new "law" that could jeopardize our rights to our own work.

The Illustrators Partnership

(www.illstratorspartnership.org) [link]

have been covering this story for quite some time. Trying to fight against this bill is known as the: "Orphan Works"

If this bill passes in Congress, this will require every single artist to register every single artwork they have done.

Their doodles, sketches, client work, prints, books, photographs etc.

All of this would have to be copyrighted under their name otherwise, it would automatically be proclaimed as an "Orphaned" work.

Being an Orphaned work would allow art theft to thrive.

(for example:
When a magazine company uses an artist artwork for one of their articles, the artist would normally be paid royalties for using their art in the article.
However, if they do not claim the artwork, or if it's not registered. The magazine company can use and re-use that image as much as they like and they would not have to pay anyone royalties for using their work.)

Too many times, I've seen wonderful artwork done by magnificent artists being stolen and claimed by others.

:writersblock: Our talents weren't just given to us on a silver platter, we've earned it through much suffering and effort. We endure so much because of our unrelenting desire to be able to create. It doesn't matter what sort of medium we use, this is an entity that came from deep within ourselves, our very core. :work:

And to let single, piece of paper, to take all of that away in a single stroke of a pen is unforgivable.

:threaten: Fight for yourself, Fight for your Art :ninjabattle:

Protect your Art :deviation:

okay I'm up to page 7 of the comic and it's still unnerving. I'm pretty pleased with the six pages so I'm starting to ink them out.

I dunno if I should color them or not, (perhaps not)

Life

Pretty much the same old. Nothing exactly new.

For the sake of completion I downloaded the last two episodes of Shippudden.

They weren't that bad. Perhaps they realized what a shitty job they did with the first half of the arch and actually picked themselves up and put some effort into it. It's not entirely running on Flashbacks and the story is back on track.

which is good. they may actually win my heart back....maybe.

Alright, so far the MLOZ (modern Legend of Zelda... I still haven't come up with an official title yet for it, how sad) is moving along great. I fixed a few kinks here and there.

Your feedback would be most helpful and welcome.

I'm pretty confident about the first four pages. I'm working up to the fifth and planning out the sixth. I'm not getting the exact effect I want from the six page. Probably there's a gap that needs to be filled somewhere and I won't know until I look it over and get some feedback.

Anyway, I'm slowly gaining my will to draw comics again. I may even start up that other project I've been bitching about for the past couple of months.

The website is not even on the go yet and so why should I worry about it now? It said that it would be updated with a new comic every tuesday. So, there you have it.

I think it's best to just take a break from that project before I start pulling out my hair, one clump at a time.

Life

Spring Break was ...short. It's good to be back in school and all but mostly I've been working "non-stop" for the past few weeks. Now that I have a new car to pay, plus my new insurance, and credit card bills. Money is the top priority on my list.

And the Like

Anime: Naruto- Shippudden

Last week was the release of the dramatic, emotional reunion of Team 7.

I got only four words to describe that hour special:

what a fucking disappointment!

I don't know what is running through their goddamn minds right now but they are fucking up, big time.

I don't normally rant on journals but it must be said.

The constant flashbacks, the staring, the standing around like the living dead, the unbareable cliche!!

if there was even a part I liked during that hour was when Sasuke sees the Kyuubi and saying those last lines to him. (If you haven't read it, go read it chapter 300 something)

This show isn't worth watching anymore. The most climatic moment in the entire goddamn series was a major face-first, belly flop down into hell.

To spare you the pain, just read the manga. The manga is wonderful and getting good. The show....:shakefist:

where did that come from? I knew I was fast approaching my 5k pageview mark and I was trying to think of a spiffy artwork to commemorate the event!

however, it just flew right past me.

:P I'm such a dolt.

Thank you guys for all that have visited my gallery and my artwork.

I truly appreciate it and I hope you all come back again for more. O.o!

:starts busting out ideas for 5k pageviews!:

I'm ruined.

I'm finished, it's over baby, it's over!

The conclusion arose when I was working on the dialog for the Zelda comic (yes I'm finally working on it.)

First, I did some thumbnails just to get the layout and then it seemed pretty okay.

So I started sketching out the first couple of pages and then just when I came to the third page of dialoge I wanted to be witty and slight sense of sarcasm, but it didn't work!!

T_T

I'm a little sad now, perhaps if I kept going I'll return but I just wanted to get that out.

Ignore me, like how the rest of the world is doing right at this very moment.
